Indigenous business owner Frank Assu had worked hard to design and purchase a tactical wildfire truck. We learned of his new company when we filmed him for an episode of Where the Wind Meets the Tide. In the summer of 2023, one of the worst ever fire seasons in the history of British Columbia, Frank was trying to get his new business started and his new tactical truck out to help.

We wrote a media release on the situation and advised Frank on how to take a good photo with the truck for the media. Within hours of helping Frank get the release out to media, he was able to garner media attention: a radio interview with the local station and Chek News called to feature his story on the news that evening.

We helped prepare Frank for the interviews so he felt confident. By that afternoon, he received calls from the BC Wildfire Service and had a contract for work with them within two weeks.

Helping Lak’Was Wildfire Water Service is the spark for us to start Jolly Good Multimedia: we wanted to do more good like this for organizations, individuals and businesses.

Thanks for inspiring us Frank.
